    • JACOB STEWART, the first of his line to be of record, was of New Jersey and later of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. While a resident of New Jersey he served with the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War and, according to records in possession of his descendants, was taken prisoner. [4]
