Obituary: Martha Hoskinson 1899

"...age. She was born October 31, 1819, near New Castle, Pa., being one of 11 children, three sons and eight daughters, seven of the sisters still living....She became the mother of three sons and five daughters, of whom all but one daughter still live to mourn her loss....Her funeral sermon was preached at 3 p.m. Wednesday by the pastor, Rev. J. M. Glenn, at Trinity church, of which she was a member. After the service at the church her body was borne in the grave. The following were the pall bearers: W. J. Smith, B. H. Thomas, J. P. Carson, J. P. Ulmer, J. A. Lott, and D. B. Sweat. Deceased was the mother (should read sister) of Mrs. Nancy Hingston (Hinkson) of Walnut street, this city: Mrs. Ellen McNickle of East Brook and Mrs. Sara Pollock of Plainsgrove."
