Proeschel Funeral Home, 547 Main St. Leonard Hawkes and Hubert Childers will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery....Mr. Rennie had been in failing health for four years and had been hospitalized since Dec. 9, 1962. Born in Belfast, Ireland, on Aug. 26, 1885, the son of James and Mary Anne Wightman Rennie, he came to America in 1907 and had been a resident of Hamilton for 40 years....He married Sarah A. Ward on Sept. 11, 1918, in Lexington, Ky., and the devoted couple enjoyed more than 44 years of marriage. A loyal employe of Champion Papers Inc. for 23 years, Mr. Rennie retired from that firm. An energetic man with a passion for work, he later was employed by Miami University for six years, retiring in 1959. A kind and loving husband and father, he dedicated his life to the welfare and happiness of his family. Mr. Rennie was associated with a group of Christians, and he found much satisfaction in this fellowship. He leaves his wife, a daughter, Mary L. Rennie, at home; a devoted nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rennie, Hamilton, other relatives and many friends both here and in Ireland. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Rennie, who died in 1929 at the age of eight years, and a brother, Robert John Rennie, who died in 1948." |
